Semrush pricing: plans, extra fees, and renewal costs

Disclosure: This article contains affiliate links. I may earn a commission if you buy through them. This is a researched guide, not a claim of hands-on testing.

Semrush pricing now includes distinct SEO and combined SEO plus AI Search offers. Compare the exact current package, not a legacy tier name alone. Your useful cost comparison includes the billing term, seats, required add-ons, and account limits.

If this operating setup fits your needs, check the current Semrush offer while you compare the requirements below.

Current public offer

On October 5, 2026, the official combined pricing page showed a US-dollar display with SEO at $139 monthly; Starter at $199; Pro+ at $299; and Advanced at $549. Its annual equivalents displayed $117.33, $165.17, $248.17, and $455.67 per month respectively, billed annually. Check the actual full annual charge in checkout because displayed equivalents can be rounded.

The free offer was described as a demo project and limited reports, with no credit card required. It should not be budgeted as an unrestricted production account. Enterprise pricing is custom.

These observations are dated public prices. Confirm currency, taxes, eligibility, accepted contract terms, and renewal at purchase. Do not use an old promotional rate to predict your bill.

Choose the needed scope

List the capabilities your work requires. Separate SEO research and monitoring from AI visibility, additional reporting, and other product families. Decide whether the combined offer supplies work you genuinely plan to do.

A publisher with no process for interpreting AI visibility may get more value from completing a consistent SEO workflow first. A team actively reporting multiple channels may need the broader scope. The right choice depends on assigned work.

Include the team

The official page showed additional users starting at $45 monthly. Verify the quote for your account and tier. Budget for legitimate individual access rather than assuming the base subscription includes every collaborator.

Who needs a seat? A researcher who performs daily tasks may need direct access; someone only reading a delivered report may need a different arrangement. Confirm permissions and supported sharing instead of sharing a password.

Account for reporting and other additions

The same page listed Base Report at $10 monthly, Pro Report at $20, and Lead Generation at $90. Treat these as dated add-on observations and check exactly what applies. Do not assume an optional reporting product is essential simply because it is presented beside the plan.

Request an itemized total when multiple products are involved. Record the billing period for every line and how cancellation works. A small add-on repeated every month can materially change an annual budget.

Limits that affect cost

Count monitored websites, tracked terms, research queries, exports, crawl pages, and specialized allowances separately. Monthly crawl budget and maximum pages in a single audit are different constraints. A large monthly total does not necessarily permit one equally large scan.

Estimate normal and busy workloads. A redesign may temporarily increase audit work; a new cluster may increase research. Decide whether to change the process, use an appropriate temporary plan, or maintain more capacity.

Cancellation and renewal

The pricing FAQ says subscriptions can be canceled, downgraded, or upgraded, except where custom terms and a signed agreement apply. Read the accepted terms and refund policy directly. Cancellation of future billing is a different question from recovering a previous payment.

Keep the order confirmation and set a review reminder before renewal. Evaluate the work completed, not merely logins or exported data. If the research queue grows while nothing is published, editorial capacity may be the real constraint.

My buying rule

Start with the smallest package that supports required workflows reliably. Upgrade when a recurring limitation blocks necessary work and a documented higher entitlement resolves it. Broad features and estimated market opportunity do not justify a recurring bill by themselves.

Next step

Check Semrush through my affiliate link against the requirements above before purchasing. Compare the current checkout and renewal terms, and keep a copy of the offer you accept.
