Choosing between Bizee and LegalZoom starts with whether you need a narrow filing task or additional support. Both advertise an entry LLC service fee of $0 plus state charges. Their higher packages and renewals can make the actual purchase very different.
For a simple company, compare matching formation and agent services. For a business needing legal help, compare the attorney-service scope separately. Mixing those purchases creates misleading price conclusions.
Current package amounts
| Public service charge | Bizee | LegalZoom |
|---|---|---|
| Entry LLC package | $0 plus state fees | $0 plus state fees |
| Middle displayed tier | $199 plus state fees | $249 plus state fees |
| Higher displayed tier | $299 plus state fees | $299 plus state fees |
The sources are Bizee’s order page and LegalZoom’s LLC overview. These dated figures do not mean the corresponding tiers contain identical services. Select your state and read the actual checkout inclusions.
State fees are government charges. Provider preparation fees and future subscriptions are separate. If annual billing is involved in an extra, identify the upfront payment and renewal period rather than comparing only an advertised monthly equivalent.
Registered-agent cost can matter more
Bizee’s consumer agent page shows $149 annually. LegalZoom’s agent offer shows $249 annually with renewal terms. Confirm whether your selected formation package includes an initial agent period.
A lower public annual rate can matter if you plan to keep the agent for several years. But compare the actual order and covered services. Changing providers can require a state filing, so factor continuity into the choice rather than switching purely from a marketing number.
An agent receives designated official correspondence. It does not automatically file every report or supply legal advice. Assign a monitored contact and a backup so the documents lead to action.
Legal support is a separate comparison
LegalZoom advertises attorney-support options. If you expect to use one, read the legal-plan contract for jurisdictions, consultation limits, document scope and exclusions. A time-limited package benefit can renew into a subscription.
Bizee’s formation page says it is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. That is a useful boundary. Its filing assistance should not be mistaken for individualized analysis of ownership or tax choices.
If your issue is a complex supplier contract or multiple-owner agreement, define the work needed and compare a suitable direct attorney engagement. A broad package is valuable only when it covers the deliverable you require.
EIN handling and setup benefits
The IRS EIN process is free at the government level. Provider assistance is a convenience service. Ask which application route is used and whether your facts fit online eligibility.
For bank setup help, ask whether the deliverable is an introduction, application assistance or something else. Neither formation nor an EIN guarantees bank approval. Owners outside the United States should confirm provider and institution support separately.
For templates, consider the actual complexity. A generic operating agreement can be a starting point for simple ownership, but it may not address unequal contributions, exit rights or deadlocks adequately without tailored review.
Build a comparable basket
List formation, state charge, agent duration, EIN help, documents, legal support and recurring extras. Put the same required work in each basket. Exclude benefits you would not use rather than assigning them imaginary value.
Then project the next renewal year. Record agent service, subscriptions, state reports and taxes separately. That often reveals whether a cheap launch price is the right fit over time.
Check current compliance requirements at the agency source. For example, FinCEN currently exempts U.S.-created entities from BOI reporting. An old checklist can create unnecessary purchases.
My decision rule
Bizee belongs on the shortlist when inexpensive filing preparation and its selected setup bundle meet your needs. LegalZoom deserves consideration when defined attorney-access benefits are useful and you understand their terms. Neither package should choose your state or structure for you.
Check Bizee and check LegalZoom with the same task list. Choose the understood scope, and arrange qualified advice for questions outside it.
